Programs for Girls

Pioneer Girls
Program Leader:

Though having enjoyed a longstanding relationship as the sister program to the Christian Service Brigade, Pioneer Girls have since become a part of Pioneer Clubs. Pioneer Clubs is a Christian ministry that’s entirely driven by a passion to evangelize and disciple today’s children. Pioneer Clubs provides programs for churches to sponsor a weekly club ministry for young people from age two through twelfth grade. Pioneer Clubs helps kids have fun, learn new skills, build relationships, study the Bible, and ultimately, learn to live for Christ in every aspect of life. Pioneer Clubs serves over 3,000 churches and over 140,000 children throughout North America.

Pioneer Girls meets every Monday nights from 6:30 - 8:15 PM mid- September through mid-May each year (except when no school or holidays). The purpose of Pioneer Girls Clubs is to teach girls to put Christ into every phase of their life. Each meeting includes a time of singing, crafts, games, service projects and a Bible time. The older half of our Pioneer Girls program is broken down into several groups:

Challengers grades 7-8
The Challengers live up to their name by challenging the world around them and themselves. They enjoy having fun but also enjoy serious talks about the problems they face in their everyday lives There meetings have a more relaxed format with a time to talk and share ideas while doing a craft or learning God's truths in a Bible Exploration. They enjoy activities such as having Mother Daughter Teas, sleep-overs or playing volleyball in the gym. They also enjoy special service projects and working on badges as a group during meetings. At the annual May camping trip the Challengers have the responsibility to run the Friday night game time for all the other girls.

Explorers grades 9-12
The Explorers kick off each year with a get-acquainted weekend, usually spent at the ocean or in the mountains. At this level, girls are taught leadership skills. Explorers help conduct the weekly Bible Exploration, as well as the prayer time. During their weekly meetings the Explorers may be learning a new craft-skill, competing in a sports night, having a fun and fellowship time, or organizing and running the yearly Spring camping trip for the younger Pioneer Girl groups. They choose the camp theme, decorate the areas of the camp with theme props, plan and lead the Morning Watch, the Songfest, and the Saturday game time. Explorers learn to lead by following Christ's example of serving others. For more information, visit the Pioneer Clubs website, or contact us at Forest Hills Baptist Church.

I like how church feels like home; whenever life gets hectic you can go there and just chill.

Programs for Boys

Christian Service Brigade
Program Leader:
Christian Service Brigade in Canada is part of an international gender-specific ministry, in which men and women in local churches win and develop children and youth to be disciples of Christ. This action packed, balanced program based on the Word of God, provides purposeful action, meaningful achievement progress, group dynamics, leadership development and opportunities for Christian service.

The ministry operates in local churches of various denominations across Canada, led by faithful godly leaders who have being winning and training young people for Christ for more than 65 years. Recently we received an account of how Christian Service Brigade and our camping ministry started in Canada more than 60 years ago.

Check out this exciting story of what can happen when one man catches a vision of what God can do.
